“Their state motto is “live free or die”. It’s got some gorgeous mountains, part of the Appalachian trail runs through. We used to canoe and sail on the small beautiful lake. I always picture it when the sky was this really pale blue, and the water is calm, slightly feathering in a mild breeze. I think of New Hampshire as similar to Maine, but with less water and more industry. They are also super rural – farms are everywhere, as they are in Maine, but there are more processing plants and factories. They have a lot of really stark mountains as well.”
