“A pristine land of snow-capped mountains with the sweet smell of Ponderosa pine lingering in its fresh air. In spring and early summer, the wildflowers fill the wide open valleys with color dotted among the otherwise golden fields. Grizzly bears, wolves, moose, elk and bison. The lakes and rivers are wild, crystal clear and absolutely freezing. If you travel to the eastern front of the Rockies, you are welcomed to the high plateau with relentless winds and endless agricultural lands of wheat and cattle. I have seen the brightest milky way in the night sky, witnessed my first glowing northern lights and watched the most intense mountain lightning storms all from my front porch. I’ve also experienced the coldest winter of my life where one week temperatures lingered at -30 degrees F.”
