Acrylic and pencil on paper, 11″ x 15″, 2020.
“I worry so often about never finding that one thing that I enjoy doing, my calling career wise I guess. My parents always drilled it into me to do what I loved, as they both failed A levels and just fell into jobs that paid OK (risk management and accountan), but they both hate their jobs. I went to University and studied Photography, thinking that was my thing and I didn’t enjoy it but finished the degree anyway. Anyway, now I work in retail and I hate it so much, I cant go back to Uni to study because I’d get no funding and I have no idea what I actually want to do. I often have nightmares I might never find a way of making money that I enjoy.”
“One day, the thermometer at work said 42C outside. Overwhelmed, drained, happy, brain fog, sweat, tired, out of place, entertained, patient, love.”
