“Home – beaches for days, in summer the water is a tropical blue and in winter it’s grey and fierce. Mountains are in the distance and you can see a lighthouse on the other side of the water. You can watch dolphins all along the coast. There’s pine forests that lead to beaches. Gorse bushes line coastal paths and dunes. They are dark green with big thorns but have the most gorgeous sunshine yellow flowers that smell like coconut. Coconut mixed with the salty air is the best smell in the world. It smells like home. Walking the beaches looking for shells is the best thing – where you can find big white whelk shells and coral pink scallop shells. There’s also fields of yellow and green from the farms. Rolling, soft hills turn into big hills that give you a view of the whole coast. You can see for miles. Every season brings new wonder and beauty to the landscape. Frost on the fallen pine needs is something to behold.”
