“Michigan – I’m slowly falling in love with it. It’s flat and you’re always in the tree line; everything looks the same. Lakes are everywhere you look. Super reminiscent of the Netherlands in a way, which is probably why so many Dutch settled here. There are so many varieties of birds, and other wildlife. It’s like you’re nestled in with them. Beautiful summers, dreary winters and lakes as big as oceans. The mighty Mackinac Bridge that connects to a bonus upper peninsula with untamed wilderness and mountains, delicious beer and wine and people that truly embody the ‘Midwest nice’.
Acrylic, soft pastel and pencil on paper, 5″ x 6″, 2020.
