“Stepping stones. Greens, greys, stones. Family space. Open air. Escape. Babbling river. A place of calm and reflection.
We’d been trying to get pregnant for months. To distract me from feeling anxious and depressed about it, we went for a road trip to Black Rock. The climb up is steep but the view at the top is all encompassing. I sat at the top of the rock, taking in the peace, feeling the air hit my face, and taking in the views for miles around.
It was my first year at university and we’d started getting some snow. My friend took us for an afternoon drive around the Peak District, green hills mixed with mounds of snow. The snow started to come down faster and the green landscapes disappeared in to white.”
