“West Virginia is mysterious. When we cross the bridge into the state, it turns almost dark green, like you’re now being covered by the mountains and trees, with just spots of light showing through. Dark brown, forest green, pale yellow. Mountains. The fog is always lingering…almost always feels moist and damp. Mornings and evenings are cool and the days heat up with lots of humidity. Rhododendrons take over the mountain sides. There’s lots of rivers, rafting, cliffs, climbing, hills, skiing, trails, hiking. Smells like fresh air and forest floor.“
